Accountant

Benfleet | £40,000 - £50,000 DOE | Full-Time | Established Accountancy Practice

We're working with a well-established and welcoming accountancy practice in Benfleet that is looking to add a talented Accountant to its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practice experience who enjoys working across a varied client portfolio and wants a role offering genuine responsibility, variety, and long-term stability.

As a key member of the team, you'll manage a broad range of accounting responsibilities while supporting clients across multiple sectors.

Your duties will include:

• Preparing year-end accounts, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss accounts
• Producing tax computations
• Preparing and submitting P11Ds
• Processing payroll and associated reporting
• Managing CIS returns
• Working across leading accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
• Providing proactive support and advice to clients
• Building strong client relationships and responding to queries efficiently
• Supporting the wider team with accounting and compliance matters

We're keen to speak with experienced accounting professionals who have a strong background working within an accountancy practice environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong experience preparing year-end accounts
• Knowledge of payroll and CIS
• Experience using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and client-facing abilities

We're open to candidates who are:

• Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent), or
• Qualified by Experience (QBE)

A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial due to the office-based nature of the role.
