Join Demelza as a part-time Cook and help make our children's hospice a warm and welcoming place. You'll prepare high-quality meals and snacks for children, families, visitors, volunteers and colleagues, bringing a friendly, compassionate approach to the kitchen and supporting the exceptional care we provide every day.
What You'll Do
- Prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks that bring comfort and enjoyment.
- Cater for special dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
- Help make hospice events and celebrations special through food.
- Work alongside volunteers and colleagues to deliver an excellent catering service.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a professional kitchen.
- A passion for preparing high-quality, home-cooked food.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safe working practices.
- A flexible, reliable and organised approach.
- Excellent teamwork and people skills.
- A commitment to Demelza's values of compassion, quality and respect.
More than a catering role, this is your opportunity to bring comfort through food and be part of a dedicated team supporting children with serious or life-limiting conditions and their families.
This part-time role is 20 hours per week over three days, with working hours between 8:30am and 3:30pm. Some weekend and bank holiday working is included on a rotational basis, with additional enhancements paid for these shifts.
