As a driver for Milton Grange Day Centre, you can make a real difference to a person’s life by transporting them to the service. We will require you to safely transport clients to and from the Day Centre. You will also be responsible for weekly and monthly checks on the vehicles, reporting any concerns to management, as well as keeping the bus clean and well-maintained in order to operate our professional service.

This role involves split shifts, working from 8:00am to 10:30am and 3:00pm to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. You'll work 5 hours per day, totalling 25 hours per week.

We are looking for people who:

• Already have acquired D1 on their licence or be happy to take on the training to acquire this.
• Are good-natured, kind, and considerate.
• Are flexible with your approach to others.
• Have held a full driving licence for at least 3 years.
• Are willing to undertake specific work-related training.

This part-time Driver role is an important part of our Day Service team, supporting adults, many of whom are living with dementia, to attend and return home safely each day. As well as driving, you will help people stay connected to their community and access meaningful activities that support their wellbeing. Working closely with the Senior Support Worker, you will contribute to planning safe and efficient transport routes and ensure any changes are communicated effectively. You will be supported on every journey by a Passenger Assistant and will work as part of a friendly and experienced team committed to providing a reliable, safe and person-centred service. The role offers the opportunity to build positive relationships with the people who use the service, their families and colleagues, making a genuine difference to people's daily lives.
