We are looking for a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our expanding service team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working independently, and delivering exceptional customer service.

The Role
As a Service Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical support across Paneltex's UK operations, carrying out the installation, maintenance and repair of our specialist vehicle bodies and associated equipment. You will play a vital role in ensuring product reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect.
Working both independently and alongside operational teams, you will diagnose faults, recommend improvements, and contribute to continuous service development within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out warranty, service and repair work on Paneltex products at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and bodywork issues efficiently and professionally.
• Complete installations, maintenance and repair activities to a high technical standard.
• Produce accurate service reports, including photographic evidence and supporting documentation.
• Utilise company systems including Sage CRM and Microsoft Office to record service activities.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and professional service.
• Identify opportunities for additional service, maintenance or repair work.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by reporting recurring faults and recommending solutions.
• Monitor the service inbox on a rotational weekend basis and respond appropriately to urgent service requests.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations, engineering standards and company procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in a service engineering, maintenance or technical repair role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and electronic reporting systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
