Job Description\:

As a Flight Systems Engineer within the Crew Systems Team (Crew Escape, Oxygen/Life Support, Aircrew Equipment), as a shared service, the role is cross platform, including but not limited to the Typhoon, Hawk, F-35 and Tornado programmes.

You will be involved in developing and supplying technical expertise in the engineering specification, development, clearance and support of the Crew Systems Engineering systems.

Core duties\:

• Supporting the Technical Leads within Crew Systems as a Subject Matter Expert
• Being the lead for major capability upgrade programmes
• Supporting critical design, development and performance control documentation, irrespective of delivery stream
• Supporting specific problem resolution across all delivery streams
• Assessing the estimation of cost and timescales of activities throughout the systems engineering life cycle
• Co-ordinating all appropriate activities within Crew Systems and the team members performing those activities
• Managing risk, maintenance of quality and compliance with all safety requirements
• Developing and maintain working relationships across interfacing disciplines, suppliers and customers

Essential Skills\:

• Degree/HND or equivalent experience in a STEM related discipline
• Systems Engineering/Support engineering experience with a focus on mechanical systems
• Knowledge of the full engineering lifecycle of a product
• Knowledge of flight systems - desirable

The Flight Systems Team\:

The Flight Systems team at Warton is a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled engineers responsible for the design, specification, development, testing, safety and through life support of the aircraft mechanical and electrical generation systems. The team also provides support to new business proposals as well as close working with, and management of, specialist suppliers of components for aircraft systems and their associated support equipment.
