Graduate FP&A Analyst
Hybrid - Leeds
Our talented people are creating the technology of the future

From scheduling to maintenance to keeping people safe, 2.7 million people are helped by our software daily. Technology makes it possible; people make it happen and you could be part of that.
The Tracsis Group has grown rapidly, diversifying into related transport technologies, and successfully executing a strategy that has seen it make a total of seventeen acquisitions.
Today Tracsis is a leading provider of software, hardware, data analytics/GIS and services for the rail, traffic data and wider transport industries. The Group has c.500 permanent employees serving its growing customer base from offices in the UK, Ireland the US and Germany.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Graduate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our Group Finance team and begin building a career at the intersection of finance, business and data analytics.
Working closely with our Head of FP&A, Finance Business Partners and colleagues across Finance, Commercial, Product and Operations, you’ll help us understand how the business is performing and support the financial planning that informs future decisions.
You’ll gain hands-on experience across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis, while also developing your skills in data, business intelligence and automation.
This is a great opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career who enjoys working with numbers, asking questions and turning data into meaningful insights.

What You’ll Do
As you develop in the role, you’ll:
  • Support monthly financial reporting across our customer offerings, revenue categories and business functions.
  • Analyse performance against budgets, forecasts and previous periods, helping identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Work with Finance Business Partners to understand the commercial drivers behind financial performance.
  • Help produce clear management reports and dashboards that support business decision-making.
  • Support the Group budgeting, rolling forecasting and longer-term financial planning processes.
  • Build and maintain financial models using drivers such as recurring revenue, pricing, customer activity and operating costs.
  • Support scenario modelling and help gather, validate and interpret financial and operational data.
  • Maintain and develop financial and operational KPIs.
  • Look for opportunities to improve data accuracy, reporting processes and automation.
  • Explore how tools including business intelligence, analytics and AI can help us generate better financial insight.
  • Contribute to wider Finance projects involving data, analytics and automation.

Learning and Development
We don’t expect you to arrive knowing everything.
You’ll receive a structured introduction to Tracsis, our products and our Finance function, alongside regular support, coaching and feedback from the Head of FP&A.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop practical skills in areas including:
  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Excel and financial modelling
  • Business intelligence and data visualisation
  • Commercial and financial decision-making
  • Analytics, automation and emerging technologies

You’ll also learn from experienced Finance Business Partners and colleagues across the wider business.
Please note that formal professional qualification or study support is not included as part of the initial offer, although future development opportunities can be discussed as your role and career progress.

What We’re Looking For
You don’t need previous professional Finance experience or an accounting qualification to apply. We’re much more interested in your potential, analytical thinking and willingness to learn.

You’ll ideally have:
  • A degree in Business Analytics and Decision Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science or another relevant business, technology or quantitative discipline.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Curiosity about how businesses operate and what drives performance.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with numerical information.
  • Good attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and explain your findings to others.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.
  • The ability to organise your workload and work towards deadlines.

It would be great if you also have:
  • Exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, financial modelling or quantitative analysis through your studies, projects or previous experience.
  • An interest in financial forecasting, data analytics, automation or AI.
  • Experience through an internship, placement year, university project or similar environment.

These are desirable rather than essential, so please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t have experience in every area.

Our PICO Values
Our values shape how we work at Tracsis, and we’ll look for people who can bring these behaviours to the role:

Progression You’re curious, open to learning and keen to continually develop your skills and understanding.

Why Join Tracsis?
This is an opportunity to start your career within an international transport technology group and gain exposure well beyond traditional financial reporting.
You’ll work with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, developing an understanding of how financial, commercial and operational data come together to support decision-making.
You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, develop new skills and explore how data, automation, business intelligence and AI can help shape the future of FP&A at Tracsis.

Benefits:
