Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer position within the Communications Support department based in Cheadle, Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality visual content across digital and print platforms, supporting the organisation's campaigns, fundraising activities and communications. The role requires a designer with strong creative thinking, excellent technical skills and the ability to translate campaign briefs into engaging visual designs that communicate Human Appeal's mission effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Design engaging visual content for social media platforms, digital campaigns and marketing materials.
- Develop creative concepts and visual assets for fundraising and humanitarian campaigns.
- Produce high-quality graphics for websites, email campaigns, presentations and digital advertising.
- Design print materials, including brochures, reports, posters, leaflets and other promotional assets.
- Create infographics and data visualisations that communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Adapt existing designs into multiple formats and sizes for different platforms and communication channels.
- Maintain visual consistency across all creative outputs in line with Human Appeal's brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with the creative, digital and communications teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective design solutions.
- Manage multiple design projects while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Prepare final artwork and production-ready files for digital and print use.
- Organise and maintain design files, templates and creative assets.
NB: Employee duties are not limited only to the above-mentioned responsibilities; they may perform other duties as assigned
Candidate essential criteria
- Degree-educated in a related field, e.g. Art, Design, Marketing, or qualified by experience
- Proven professional experience as a Graphic Designer or in a similar creative role.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, visual storytelling and experience across digital and print design.
- Excellent understanding of typography, layout, colour theory and visual composition.
- Experience creating graphics for social media and digital marketing campaigns.
- Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate ideas into effective visual concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain brand consistency.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced creative environment.
Candidate desirable criteria
- Experience working within a charity, humanitarian organisation or fundraising environment.
- Experience creating motion graphics or basic animations using Adobe After Effects.
- Knowledge of video editing and multimedia content production.
- Experience designing reports, publications and presentation materials.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and emerging creative technologies.
