Management Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. This role will play a key part in supporting business performance through accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support informed decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, providing clear insights into business performance.
• Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts, including variance analysis and performance monitoring against financial targets.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining business objectives.
• Provide financial guidance and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Support the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support effective financial management and reporting.
• Provide support and guidance to finance team members where required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential

• Strong financial reporting and management accounting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to analyse financial data and present findings clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using accounting software and financial management systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable

• Knowledge of standard costing and stock control processes.
• Experience working with ERP systems, particularly AX or EFACS.
• Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or progress towards qualification.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as CIMA or ACCA are valued but not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
