Materials Manager

Neon Propellers is seeking a Materials Manager to lead the planning, inventory, material flow, logistics, and production support activities that keep our aerospace manufacturing operations moving. In this role, you will ensure purchased and manufactured components are available when needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and helping the organization identify and resolve material risks before they affect production. You will work across Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Finance, suppliers, and logistics partners to support reliable execution and on-time customer delivery.

• Strengthen MRP discipline and planning accuracy across purchased and manufactured components.
• Help balance production readiness with responsible inventory management by addressing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
• Oversee shipping, receiving, dock operations, and material movement to support accurate and timely inbound and outbound flow.
• Drive material issues through resolution rather than simply reporting shortages.
• Lead and develop Materials Planning personnel while establishing standardized planning and inventory processes.
• Work in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment where production priorities may shift due to engineering changes, supplier constraints, quality issues, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate regularly across office, production, inventory, shipping and receiving, and material staging environments.
• Additional hours may be required based on production or operational priorities.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, production planning, supply chain, inventory management, manufacturing operations, or a related area.
• Experience working in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, production planning, inventory management, and material requirements planning.
• Experience managing planning parameters such as lead times, safety stock, lot sizes, reorder points, and order policies.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to identify material risks, manage shortages, and drive actions through closure in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Supply Chain, Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Finance, suppliers, and logistics partners.
• Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and move regularly between office, production, inventory, shipping and receiving, and material staging areas.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work in ITAR-regulated environments or with ITAR-regulated information and materials, as applicable to the position.

Preferred

• 1 or more years of leadership or supervisory experience.
