Product Manager – Air Traffic Management: Predictive Airspace Flow & Capacity
Job description
At easyJet, we are on a mission to transform our integrated Planning and Operations into a world class digitally optimised operation, through the use of new and emerging technologies.
Air Traffic Management is one of the single largest sources of disruption, delay and excess fuel burn across our network. European airspace is more constrained than ever, and the ability to anticipate where capacity will be lost — and to re-plan ahead of it rather than react to it — is a major commercial and operational opportunity for the airline.
We are looking for a Product Manager to take end-to-end accountability for our Predictive Airspace Flow & Capacity products, working alongside the Senior Product Manager, fellow Product Managers, Airline Operations Platform team and the Air Traffic Management, Flight Ops and wider Operations Control teams who rely on these products every day.
Product and its ways of working is new to easyJet, and we are looking for people who are able to help us mature our capability as we journey through the skies together!
This role sits at the intersect between the business, technology teams and our customers, and will really make the difference. The team is highly specialised in emerging technologies and importantly understands how planning, operational and commercial decisions connect in a rapidly changing landscape.
JOB PURPOSE
As a Product Manager – Air Traffic Management, you will own the strategy, development and delivery of one to three products that forecast airspace capacity, ATFM regulation risk and network flow, directly impacting millions of passengers and frontline staff across Europe.
Your products will help easyJet see constraint before it bites\: predicting where en-route and airport capacity will be reduced, modelling the network impact of ATFM regulations and CTOTs, and recommending the re-routing, re-timing and fuel and payload decisions that protect our schedule, our customers and our cost base.
Working closely with the Senior Product Manager and the Head of Technology, you will take full accountability for your products across their whole lifecycle — setting the vision, defining the roadmap and leading the cross-functional team that delivers it. That team, made up of engineers, analysts, Data Scientists and delivery partners, will rely on your leadership to ensure every product decision is grounded in customer insight, operational efficiency and commercial value. You will also contribute to the strategy of the wider product group, making sure your products earn their place within it.
This is a highly collaborative role. You’ll work closely with Network Control, Flight Planning, Fuel Efficiency, Crewing and Airports teams, as well as third-party suppliers, ANSPs and industry bodies such as EUROCONTROL, to translate complex operational challenges into clear priorities and value-focused roadmaps. You’ll align your product strategy with the Product group roadmap and broader corporate objectives, ensuring your plans support both near-term delivery and long-term transformation. You’ll provide clear, data-driven insight that informs decisions for the Product Group.
Your products serve the day of operations — the point at which a plan becomes a flight. That means the legal flight plan and the joint captain and dispatcher release; the weather picture behind it, including real-time monitoring, alternate airport planning and wind and turbulence routing; the final fuel load and the tankering and replanning decisions that follow; and the ATC flow picture, where restrictions are managed, slots are optimised and congestion is routed around.
It also means what happens once the aircraft is airborne\: tracking flights in real time, adjusting for winds, congestion and military airspace activation, issuing re-clearances and re-routes, and handling weather deviations, airport closures and diversion planning. Underpinning all of it is the coordination between Flight Planning, Network Control, where rotations and fuel impacts are balanced against one another. You will not own the operation itself, but you will own the products, data and decision support that make these decisions faster, better informed and more resilient — and you will need a clear view of where your products start and stop, and where they hand over to the Flight Planning mission.
You will work in close partnership with the Airline Operations Platform team to define a clear, value-driven roadmap that sequences delivery around the value it unlocks rather than the order in which it is asked for. Your products do not create value in isolation\: they matter because of how they connect into the wider work of optimising the end-to-end operation, and because of the decisions they enable in the platform and in the teams downstream of it. You will be expected to articulate that bigger picture, and to show clearly how your roadmap advances our strategic objective of leading the industry in disruption management.
This role is ideal for a hands-on product thinker who thrives in a high-volume, high-impact environment and can balance a compelling product vision with day-to-day execution.
