Job description

Team

Connected Crew & Optimised Flying brings together four product groups to improve operational efficiency, safety, crew effectiveness, and sustainability. Within Safety Systems, our objective is to give crews the training, tools and insight they need to prevent, detect and respond to safety risks — because almost every safety principle, rule and procedure is only effective when crews are trained to use it consistently and correctly.

We are looking for a Product Manager to own Crew Training\: the products and data capability that make crew training more consistent, evidence-based and efficient. You will work alongside the Senior Product Manager, Safety Systems, fellow Product Managers across Connected Crew, and the Crew & Aircraft Device Platform team who operate the underlying iPad/EFB estate that crew training products rely on.

The Senior Product Manager, Safety Systems, reports to the Head of Technology, Connected Crew & Optimised Flying, and is accountable to the Director of Crew Training for the delivery of Crew Training outcomes.

This role sits at the intersection of Flight Operations, Cabin Services, Safety and Technology. Crew training today is fragmented across systems that don't talk to each other and relies heavily on manual processes — limiting the insight we can draw from our safety systems and increasing administrative burden on instructors and crew. Your products are the foundation that fixes this\: a unified, data-driven training experience that delivers consistent, continuously improving training with minimal manual effort.

Job Purpose

As a Product Manager, you will own the strategy, development and delivery of the Crew Training products within Safety Systems — products that directly shape the readiness, competence and safety performance of every pilot and cabin crew member across the airline.

Working closely with the Senior Product Manager, Safety Systems, and the Head of Technology, you will take full accountability for your products across their whole lifecycle — setting the vision, defining the roadmap and leading the cross-functional team that delivers it. That team, made up of a Technical Specialist, delivery partners, and supporting analysts and data scientists from across the group, will rely on your leadership to ensure every product decision is grounded in evidence-based training practice, instructor and crew insight, and operational value.

You will ensure training data and records connect cleanly into the wider Safety Systems and Connected Crew landscape, and you will contribute to the strategy of the wider Safety Systems product group, making sure your products earn their place within it.

Objective\: Deliver a unified, data-driven training experience that improves quality and efficiency — replacing fragmented, manual systems with consistent, continuously improving training that scales.

Job Accountabilities

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own the vision, strategy and roadmap for the Crew Training products, from idea to value

  • Ensure alignment with the strategy of the wider Safety Systems and Connected Crew product groups, organisational goals, crew needs, and evolving regulatory and operational dynamics

  • Build the value case for your products and manage the resource and funding allocated to them, contributing to the wider product group budget owned by the Senior Product Manager

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Flight Operations, Cabin Services, Safety, instructor communities, the Crew & Aircraft Device Platform team, external training/LMS suppliers and senior stakeholders

  • Partner closely with fellow Safety Systems and Connected Crew Product Managers to ensure training data and insight connect effectively with adjacent safety and crew products

Product Planning & Execution

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of your products, from idea and discovery through delivery, adoption and optimisation

  • Translate operational challenges — fragmented systems, manual processes, limited training insight — into clear, prioritised product backlogs and ensure timely, high-quality delivery

  • Define and track success metrics (OKRs and KPIs) for training quality, efficiency, and administrative burden reduction, ensuring your products deliver tangible business outcomes

  • Use data and insights to inform decisions, iterate on solutions, and continuously improve product performance

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership to a multidisciplinary squad, ensuring alignment across business SMEs, Technology, Data, Analytics, and external partners

  • Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture focused on delivering measurable value, and share practice openly with fellow Product Managers across the group

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure your product development adheres to legal, regulatory and operational standards, including data handling and security requirements for training and safety-related information

  • Apply best practice in product governance, risk management, and ethical technology use

Communication & Reporting

  • Act as the focal point for communication on your products, providing regular updates to the Senior Product Manager, Head of Technology and wider stakeholders on progress, risks and value realisation

  • Ensure transparency and alignment with stakeholders at every level
