We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Brentwood to assist with the appointment of a Social Media Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.16 - £20.47 per hour
Summary:
The Social Media Officer role will work across both Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council, supporting the effective management and development of their social media channels and creating engaging digital content for a range of audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Create lively and engaging content across social media platforms, including high-quality written content, graphics, imagery, smartphone video and photography.
- Record and edit video and photographic content for social media and other digital channels.
- Schedule, publish and monitor social media content, responding to audiences in a timely, friendly and engaging manner.
- Monitor media and social media coverage and report findings as required.
- Ensure the effective use and management of the Councils' social media channels.
- Identify developments in social media and emerging platforms and suggest new approaches.
Qualification:
- Good level of general education.
Essentials:
- Background in communications, journalism, digital media or relevant equivalent experience.
- Current valid full driving licence.
- Experience of social media video, image and content production, delivering engaging digital content.
- Creative management skills with experience taking an idea from concept through to delivery.
- Experience with camera, lighting and sound recording and editing.
