How We Work:
Our hybrid work style (3 days in the London office) gives us the face-to-face time to have creative conversations, meaningful meetings, make quick decisions and build relationships. And it's flexible enough to give you the space to do your best work.
About the Role:
We're reimagining how people connect with and protect what matters most. This role has a key focus on Avast's freemium experiences, one of Gen's largest consumer software products with hundreds of millions of users globally across desktop and mobile. As part of a global company known for brands like Norton, LifeLock, MoneyLion and Avast, we're building new products and experiences that address real-world challenges with clarity, purpose and empathy.
We're also on a mission to become an AI-first company, infusing intelligent systems, automation and personalisation into everything we do. From how we design user experiences to how we protect identities and enable secure financial wellness, AI is central to our strategy, and design plays a key role in making it accessible, trustworthy and human.
This is an opportunity to join an established yet entrepreneurial environment, where your craft is valued, your impact is felt, and your ideas help shape the future of digital security and secure financial wellness.
About the Team:
Gen's Global Product Design team is a diverse, distributed group working across London, Prague, Dublin and the US. The global team designs across cybersecurity, identity protection, privacy and financial wellness, with a strong focus on AI-enabled experiences and reimagining key user journeys. This role sits within the cyber safety pillar, working primarily on Avast and its freemium ecosystem, while staying closely connected to the wider design community across Gen's brands.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape strategy through design: translate complex problems and abstract ideas into elegant, usable solutions grounded in user needs and business goals
Design intelligent experiences: bring clarity and usability to AI-powered products by designing interactions that feel natural, transparent and trustworthy
Turn insights into impact: translate complex problems and abstract ideas into simple, usable and delightful solutions grounded in user needs and data
Prototype and test with AI: explore new possibilities through discovery, rapid prototyping and user testing, especially around how AI can simplify tasks or personalise experiences
Collaborate and influence: partner across disciplines to align design outcomes with user needs, business goals and AI capabilities
Champion design quality: ensure every touchpoint, whether powered by AI or not, is cohesive, accessible and human-centred
About You:
Education: degree in Design, HCI or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Experience:
A track record of designing and shipping mobile-first B2C products at scale, ideally in industries like security, fintech, health or adjacent spaces
Comfortable operating across time zones and cultures; experience with distributed teams is a plus
Experience designing for or alongside AI-driven features such as personalisation, recommendations or automation is a strong plus
Experience in cybersecurity or financial services is helpful, but curiosity and adaptability matter more
Skills:
Strategic mindset with a keen sense of how design drives user value and business growth
Mastery of end-to-end product design: UX research, interaction, visual design and systems thinking
Deep user empathy and a belief in data-informed design decisions
Personal Attributes:
Curious, adaptable and motivated by solving complex problems for real people at scale
A clear, compelling portfolio that demonstrates your design process and product impact
Benefits:
At Gen Digital, we are committed to supporting our employees' well-being and professional growth. Our comprehensive benefits package for UK team members includes:
Health & Wellbeing: company-paid private medical insurance, dental and vision benefits, plus access to mental health and wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
