About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Social Video Editor to create engaging, platform-ready content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Working from our London newsroom, you’ll edit a high volume of short-form content, including explainers, presenter-led videos, cutdowns and recurring social formats, with some requiring same-day turnaround.

Working closely with producers, videographers and senior editors, you will develop your editing skills while learning how to create content that feels native to each platform. You’ll work across the Daily Mail portfolio of brands, including Eliza, YOU and the gaming brand; Respawn, gaining experience across a wide range of subjects and styles. With support from the wider video team, you’ll manage your own edits, respond to feedback and deliver accurate, creative content to a consistently high standard.

Main Responsibilities

• Edit presenter-led, explainer and other short-form social videos from raw footage through to final delivery.
• Create engaging, social-first edits for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
• Follow established templates, brand guidelines and edit styles while bringing creativity, pace and strong visual storytelling.
• Edit editorial content across the Daily Mail portfolio of brands, including Eliza, YOU and Respawn.
• Add captions, subtitles, music, graphics and basic effects to enhance edits.
• Work closely with producers, videographers and senior editors to deliver content to brief.
• Manage your assigned edits and respond positively to feedback and amends.
• Work accurately and efficiently, including on tight or same-day deadlines.

Person Specification

• Some experience creating or editing short-form video for social media, either professionally, freelance or through personal projects.
• A good understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts and what makes social content engaging.
• Good working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Comfortable working with captions, subtitles, music, basic graphics and audio.
• A strong eye for pacing, hooks and selecting engaging moments from footage.
• Creative, enthusiastic and keen to develop your editing and storytelling skills.
• Good attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
• Comfortable taking feedback and working collaboratively as part of a fast-paced team.
• After Effects, motion graphics or wider Adobe Creative Suite skills are a bonus, but not essential.
